About SCVS
Slough Council for Voluntary
Service
Slough CVS is your local charity set up to help
people who
want to start a voluntary group or who want
to see their existing
group develop its work, get funds or undertake new services.
It also gives local groups a chance to participate in the town's
decision making process. Various forums are held during the
year to gain people's views.
Slough CVS gives information, advice, training
and
continuing support around:

- Roles of the people in it
- Running an efficient meeting
- Writing a constitution
- Venues to hire
- Local people who can help
- Local groups doing similar work
- Local partnerships your group could join
- Funding opportunities
Slough CVS carries out these
functions by:
- One-to-one Development Work
- Empowering the voluntary sector
- Participation events
- Funding events
- A quarterly newsletter - Newsline
- Training sessions
- Funding e-newsletters
- Making books and leaflets available
- Use of a Resource Room
Slough CVS is an association of local voluntary groups
who
